Bryan Travis

Prior to founding Travis&Co, Bryan’s professional experience spanned several executive and leadership positions at top US-based and international brands, working with and advising the C-Suite in world-class marketing organizations.

He describes himself as a master strategic planner, straddling both the creative and analytic aspects of the marketing ecosystem, with emphasis on building & creating brand differentiation. Responsibilities during his 20-plus year corporate tenure include brand planning and health, value proposition evolution, brand purpose development, digital marketing, digital advertising, traditional advertising, media planning and management, marketing planning, and marketing research.

    Background & Focus

    Bryan moved to the Philadelphia area from Washington D.C where he spent seven years with GEICO, where he was initially brought on to handle marketing-driven exponential growth. He moved on to become the youngest person at GEICO to co-found a new department, the Competitive Advantage Group. From there, he went on to manage a $700M advertising budget and business plan. He also worked on campaign strategy, segmentation, product and line-extension strategy, and helped define GEICO’s acquisition channel strategy.

    AIG hired Bryan as a company officer to help run their consumer brand’s (AIG Direct) marketing department. He created their research and competitive intelligence capability and led brand health initiatives. During the financial crisis he helped rebrand AIG’s consumer and B2B brands and led several merger activities during his time. Additional responsibilities included new market development, digital marketing, and advertising.

     In 2013, Bryan was hired as a full-time brand strategy consultant to help build Vanguard’s brand. He worked with all levels of leadership to reposition the brand to new audiences and grow the company over his tenure. He was instrumental in developing a global brand for Vanguard.

     

    Bryan earned his MBA from University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business, with

    concentrations in Marketing and Strategy. He has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Delaware’s Lerner College of Business and Economics. He has contributed to the marketing field through advocacy (better advertising data), guest lectures, advertising peer-ratings (ad awards), and through pro-bono work with non-profits.
